I Am Woke And You Are Not!

According to Dictionary.com, “woke” is the past tense of “wake” — as in, someone who is past the process of waking up. They’re done with it. They’ve moved on. They’ve evolved from, you know, being asleep and hitting the snooze button 15 times. And frankly, that’s a pretty accurate description of how “woke” is currently being used as an adjective. Urban Dictionary defines “woke” as being aware, and “knowing what’s going on in the community.” It also mentions its specific ties to racism and social injustice. To use “woke” accurately in a sentence, one that captures its connotations and nuances, you’d need to reference someone who is thinking for themselves, who sees the ways in which racism, sexism, and classism affect how we live our lives on a daily basis. I will be damned, and I speak for many if we are going to allow a small number of pretenders of the truth to take the moral ground that we have lived by all our lives from us. We are the true “wokes”, to use the word of the day, and you are a bunch of hypocrites supported by opportunists, and useful idiots. Since my early years, we have been taught by our families, teachers, and religious leaders right from wrong. We have been always aware of the different classes, races, and social evils that perpetrated all forms of discrimination. Since the formation of this wonderful Nation and our different rules of governance, we have fought to improve our society and our lives. Accepting our errors and correcting them was our goal. This is the process dictated by a true belief of the meaning of individual freedom. Perfection will never be achieved, and all our goals will never be met. We judge ourselves for our effort and our accomplishments, regardless of how many they are, with the satisfaction that our best was given. This was and should be, the way our country progressed and improved with every new generation.

How dare you impostors come in at this time when our efforts have been achieving results.

How dare you false “wokes” try to erase our history of sacrifice, hard work, and freedom, our forefather’s vision, and our proud veterans. How dare you “fakes” try to teach what we already know, to brainwash our children, divide our population into different groups when we were in the process of achieving MLK’s dream of;

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. And when this happens, and when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men, and white men, Jews, and Gentiles, Protestants, and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: “Free at last. Free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.”

How dare you, a group that speaks of racism, misogyny, equality, and human rights, but behave doing the opposite of what you state, preach values to us. How dare you use the repulsive era of the Jim Crow statutes that have been erased to justify your political ambitions.

How dare you, so-called educators, change our history by telling our children and your students that our Country’s creation was based on malice and that fact made them evil at birth and had to de re-educated. These tactics are called “brainwashing” and belong in the culture of the Hitler, Stalin, and Castro’s of the world. Look yourselves in the mirror and decide if you are ignorant, deluded, or just plain sheep!

How dare you corporate executives preach “morality” to the people at the same time that you are enjoying and exploiting their labor and live doing the same way as what you accuse them of. Are you plain cowards? What you are not is being an example for the less fortunate when, as in the case of baseball, you hurt financially a majority black population in Atlanta, to benefit a mostly white Denver. Spare me the “high moral ground”, when you make a fortune in China, a truly racist, oppressive regime.

How dare you belittle our past that had men and women, black and white like Washington, Jefferson, Salem Poor, Washington Carver, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Lincoln, Patton, Eisenhower, the Tuskegee pilots, to name a few. One thousand of you self-proclaimed “patriots” can’t match the valor, self-sacrifice, love of country of a single veteran of the many I had the opportunity to help for twenty years.

How dare MSM and “faux” journalists like sour Lemon and muscle-head Cuomo repeat the lies spitted by politicians, whose goal is to rule over us in perpetuity, as if they were facts.

And finally how dare you think that your false rhetoric will be able to convince the silent population majority of your ruse, and we will let you take over our lives. I for one, lived the same lies in the first Castro’s years, was not fooled then, fought for my rights there and even old and unwell will fight all of you false wannabe dictators! Many of “we the people” might be presently sleeping but will soon awake, and when “woke” will return our America to its basic roots and eliminate as Jefferson wrote, ” the small elite that desires to rule us”.
