We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

 

Declaration of Independence.

There will be a time in the future when historians will describe a Nation and a system of governing that once upon a time destroyed itself. As we do now, trying to understand the fall of past empires as the Roman, the lingering question will still be; what caused the demise?

I can only speak for myself and my life experience, when young in my country of birth and the rest of my life in this, my adopted country.

Cuba, a small island, had the benefit of being able to combine the ideals and advantages of being very close to the United States, with the European culture of our forefathers. As has been factually demonstrated, Cuba had become a leading state in all parameters, competing favorably with the more successful worldwide.

Even so, our inexperience of being free led to corrupt governments and a population blinded by envy and an unreal desire for materiality over spirituality and sacrifice. Many of us after fighting for democracy and failing settled here, inspired by the ideas so well articulated in the Declaration of Independence.

We have the unique experience of having lived the transformation of an exceptional nation to an abysmal one. Within my 85 years of life, mixing work, family, freedom, and material rewards for my efforts, all the time continuing the efforts against Cuba’s tyrants, I have to be alert to the dangers that we face.

Politicians and corporate leaders are using the same ruse I lived in Cuba which in the past has been employed by fascist and communist regimes. Unfortunately, this is not exclusive in our country, but with the technological advances, the nefarious movement is aimed towards a unique rule over all nations in our world.

We have to be blind to ignore how steadily our basic culture has been eroded, starting with families, education and beliefs. As in Cuba, affluence and envy can change a population and make them easy to exploit. People that once had the desire of being free and the strength of eagles and the wisdom of owls are now behaving like sheep and dunces. And again reliving my Cuba experience our corporations are supporting the “counter-culture, woke-critical theory” sponsors.

So, at this moment we are taught that children decide their gender, our skin color if white defines our character, and makes us all racists, what words can we speak, what books we can read, what movies we can watch, and ad nauseam. And corporations, again as in Cuba, support verbally and financially these movements with the false notion that it guarantees their survival.

What happened with the Castro tyrants? Their wealthy supporters were the first that the regime eliminated! I had the opportunity and fortune to become a top medical administrator in the Veterans Hospital Service and led many co-workers in Florida and Puerto Rico. I saw it as my duty to serve our best people, veterans, dam the bureaucrats! I had the occasion of hiring many to join my efforts. I led myself by the ideals of treating everyone as equal human beings, regardless of their duties, the color of their skin, and advancing the ones that worked harder.

Now American Express is teaching employees that capitalists are by definition racists, (how about them?), and phrases like “I don’t see colors”, “we are all human beings”, and “working hard is rewarded” are microaggressions, which makes me, our forefathers and none other than MLK racists. I will quote him:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream… I have a dream that one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today… This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning. “My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride, from every mountain side, let freedom ring.”

Me and many of my age even while still fighting for freedom and real justice call upon our youth that the time has come to follow Jefferson’s words and declare new independence from those that are opponents of our basic liberties, and the ideology and culture that made us great.

Make no mistake we are in need of a new revolution against the enemies within. Our votes, which they are desperate to control, is our first and maybe the last weapon but our voices, starting to be heard, have to ring loud and clear:

“We are born free, with physical differences but equal in our desires and opportunity, as such we are one and reject the idea that we are divided because of our diverse looks. We believe in family, in a superior force, in the right to worship, in the product of labor, in gender decided by biology not a choice, always respecting our disparities without judgment but eternally united in the love of liberty and country”.
