The President of Venezuela is elected by plurality in a single round of voting.[34]

The elections were overseen by the National Electoral Council, with poll workers drafted via a lottery of registered voters. Polling places were equipped with multiple high-tech touch-screen DRE voting machines. After the vote is cast, each machine prints out a paper ballot, or VVPAT, which is inspected by the voter and deposited in a ballot box belonging to the machine’s table.

The voting machines perform in a stand-alone fashion, disconnected from any network until the polls close.[35] Voting session closure at each of the voting stations in a given polling center is determined either by the lack of further voters after the lines have emptied, or by the hour, at the discretion of the president of the voting table. Smartmatic, the electoral product company which had participated in the majority of elections under the Bolivarian government, ceased operations in its native country in March 2018, stating that they could not guarantee the validity of election results through its machines.[40]

Why Venezuela?

Well, Castro after solidifying his family tyranny in Cuba thought he, with the Soviet’s help’ could also take South America and Africa by armed revolutions. Having failed and suffering economic collapse because of his policies, corruption, and Soviet’s glasnost, started to use the weakness of representative democracies in Venezuela. After Chavez took power all the agencies and powers chosen by voters were taken over.

Everyone knows how Venezuela is ruled, so I will cut through the chase and only state the obvious, that when one political party controls the Executive, Legislative branches, the election committee, and the Judicial Court it is only a matter of winning the election and regardless of fraud, they will be rubber-stamped by the controlled agencies that oversee the results. Change the Constitution to allow reelections and longer terms, and “voila”, you have an elected Dictator!

So where is our road to Venezuela-style one-party rule? At this point, needs clarification, every step is still in the talking stage. Just the fact that has been talked about and even promoted by leaders of the D party and encouraged in the sold-out Media is terrifying. If you take them individually and add them up, the road goes this way:

  1. Take away the electoral vote system to a simple majority winner.
  2. Federalize the election regulations that the Constitution placed in the State’s legislative branch.
  3. Achieve this by passing laws in both branches eliminating the filibuster protection of the Senate’s minority.
  4. Keep the population pleased by a monetary stimulus akin to a “sugar high”.
  5. Divide the opposition by minority groups, race, sexual orientation, gender, nationality.
  6. Keep resistance controlled by suppression of information, expression of ideas, and threatened accusations, like being racist.
  7. Stop the normal impulse for freedom by re-educating children, beginning as early as infancy, all the way to adulthood.
  8. Act with the most viable speed, to avoid citizens opposing before it is too late.
  9. For any organized political, media, or group of the population that will strongly be against, use the “terrorist label” and fight with your own civil groups and/or the Armed Forces.
  10. And SCOTUS? No problem. Just vote many partisan Judges in (packing).

None of these are figments of my imagination and have been public in expression and support. Achievable? Yes. Difficult to accomplish? Yes. We have to assume that some D’s Legislators, Senators, and voters will not be amenable to go along.

Anyway, hard or not, be vigilant and do not be intimidated by the ruler’s pressures. This Country was made for “we the people” and will be defended by “we the people”.
