I do not know about you, but, I have always contended that, sometimes, the “little things” in life say more and tell more than otherwise those that appear more relevant. Last Saturday, I was bored and there was not much going on in the T.V. No programs that really interested me. As I was changing channels looking for something to watch, I happened to land on the Fox News channel, which was, ironically, carrying the yearly White House’s Correspondent Dinner, a/k/a, WHCA.
Case you have not heard what this event is all about, well, as the name implies, this is an annual dinner hosted at the White House, presumably to raise money for scholarships and honor recipients of the WHCA’s journalism awards. The host for this year’s WHCA was comedian Roy Wood Jr. As implied by the name, the WHCA is an organization of journalists who cover the White House and the President of the United States.
To be clear, the format of this dinner comes by way of a “Comedy Roast,” an event in which one particular guest or guests are joked about and made fun of by peers, usually in front of an audience. Mind you when I tuned into the dinner our idiot President was, himself, roasting media correspondents. [The] principal target for Biden’s jokes was none other than Fox News, which he repeatedly belittled and ridiculed – it was really repulsive, and the jokes were not really funny but were all charged with ill-intended low-blows.
Biden was followed in the stage by the African American host, comedian Roy Wood Jr., who, like Biden before him delighted himself for almost 45 minutes, poking all kinds of insulting comments about Fox; about the firing of Tucker Carlson; about the Dominion Voting Machines, now owning Fox after their recent settlement whereby Fox ended paying Dominion $787.5 million in the latter’s defamation lawsuit.
Ironically, throughout the speeches of these two clowns, Biden and Wood Jr., cameras kept doing close-ups on Fox’s table at the dinner, and, one time, they did a close-up showing Fox’s and Friends Steve Doocy and his son Peter, as both were cracking-up at the jokes made by Biden and Wood Jr. At that moment, I realized how people, like the Doocys in this case, are willing to sacrifice their self-respect for the sake of being in the in-circle of politics.
As far as I am concerned, for Fox to have a table in this event and for Fox’s personnel to be laughing as their company is openly humiliated is, simply said, disgusting, repulsive, and outright sickening. And then we wonder why our nation is where it is. I personally have seen the deterioration from the old iconic conservative Fox to a new Fox that has consistently shown a tendency to move farther and farther to the Left. Some of their hosts, like Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera, Karl Rove, and even Bret Baier, cannot help casting their opinionated Leftist and/or anti-Trump views, which are a complete “turn-off.”
For me personally, the firing of Tucker Carlson together with their deplorable attendance of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and their nefarious ability to laugh and kiss the ass of a President after the latter mocked their organization, all of them, independently and combined were the icing of the cake for me as I have now decided to part ways with Fox for good, as it is evident, they too have fallen prey to the new “Woke” wave that has now taken over the nation. May God save us and may God save the United States of America.
